– Bloggermann – Why “Benedict”?

Not too long ago MSNBC jumped on the blog band wagon and had some of its better known workers start their own blogs (hosted on MSNBC of course).

Keith Olbermann has an interesting but short history of the various Popes up today, and I was particularly amused by the fact that back in the year 468 the newly elected Pope chose the name “Pope Hilarius”.

And no, the meaning hasn’t changed much in the intervening 1537 years.
