Welcome Home Lansing-based MI National Guard Units

150 members of the 119th Field Artillery unit (based in Lansing) are returning home today after 11 months of duty in Iraq.

While I may not support the reasons our troops are there, I do support the troops themselves. We Michiganders aren’t cut out for desert duty 🙂

On a side note, while I was looking for an image to accompany this post (those are the MI National Guard shoulder patches you see above) I came across this interesting and startling picture from 1937 of MI National Guards confronting union protesters outside a GM plant in Flint:
