Chocolate Addicts Rejoice: Benefits for Heart and Skin
My fellow chocolate addicts should feel a tad vindicated today. A recent study by researchers at the Heinrich-Heine University in Dusseldorf, Germany yielded the following results:
In skin, the flavonols [in chocolate] have been shown to reduce skin’s sensitivity to UV radiation, increased blood flow to skin, and improvement of skin texture by increasing its density, thickness, and hydration.
The same flavonols have recently been shown to have benefits for cardiovascular health as well.
A quick summary: Chocolate is good for your ticker and the stuff that keeps your insides in.
Good to know!
