I’ve been meaning to post something new for days. Hell, let’s be honest, weeks.

This soon-to-be-dad stuff is both awesome and terrifying. Simultaneously the most exhilarating and draining experience of my entire life. Many times I want to just keel over and sleep but every time I think of holding our little boy for the first time it’s like I’ve got an engine I didn’t know was there.

Jenny has been feeling the first really bad pains associated with pregnancy (mostly in the back) and as a result I’ve spent the last two days working help desk from home on my MacBook. While it can admirably do all the tasks I need to perform my job, is just physically exhausting compared to my setup at work. If you’ve got to spend 8+ hours almost in a row with a computer I recommend at least a 19″ screen and that’s pushing it on the low end. Home office here I come.

And so, dear reader, as my eyes are losing the ability to focus on the screen while I write this, I wish you good luck. Good luck because there’s a sea of random baby stuff most likely in the near future for this site. My new year’s resolution was to try and write more, and on the last day of the first month there’s only one solution: Our random lives and the random stuff that happens. Stuff I previously didn’t write about because I figured no one would want to hear it.

Aidan Cullum Allen is the leading name choice for the baby, he’s due June 8th, and I can’t wait to meet him. Wish us luck!

So I was watching “The Littlest Groom” yesterday, right? Its this reality TV show (and this is really quite fantastic) about a bunch of midgets trying to find love. There’s one man-midget, and about 12 lady midgets. The lady midgets are all competing for his love.

Cory Doctorow, one of my favorite contemporary science fiction authors, has managed to put my own private nightmare into words.

The main character in this story has far too much in common with myself.

It’s a great story but it definitely hits close to home.
