…a truly terrible day…

…There was a post here honoring Chris Benoit, who in terms of what he meant as a professional wrestler, was one of my all time favorites. Due to what we’ve found out about the circumstances of his and his family’s death since I put that post up, it has been removed.

That is all

    What a waste….I hope to find the situation is not as it looks, but I doubt we will be that lucky….{sigh}

    It’s a sad time for wrestling fans right now. There’s a pretty good thread about the situation on my site at http://www.topropetalk.com/index.php?showtopic=39326&hl=

    I submit to you that it is a mistake to erase Benoit from the history books. While it looks like he went ape-shit and did some absolutely horrible things, I don’t think that it’s right for him to become persona non-grata. Quite the opposite, I want him held up as a lesson to future generations of wrestlers, and people… that you can be widely acclaimed around the world, that you can be the best that there is at what you do… and if you don’t make sure you have your head on straight, none of it means a damn thing.

    …while you are correct biggus johnus…that it wouldn’t be fair to eradicate his contributions to the business no matter what turns out to be true about the deaths…at the same time it would be inappropriate to have left the RIP tribute up that i had…you well know how much i enjoyed chris’ work…but ‘cherishing’ the life on someone who clearly didn’t cherish it themselves made me as ill as i felt when i first learned of his demise…before all the crazy ‘facts’ started coming out…hence the removal…
