I've been lucky to avoid this problem for many years. I attribute my luck to my loyalty to Western Digital. I haven't used a different brand since 1999. I don't know what is in my Macbook, though. That sucks, same thing happened on my old Powerbook.... But it was alright at the time since I had recently backed almost everything up and was able to boot the machine on the bad HD long enough to get my contacts and the rest of my photos off it. And in the end I went from an 80gig drive to a 100gb drive. I also must note that this time around when I got my MacBook I decided to get the 3yr plan as well ;) Thanks for the update now, I can sleep better at night now hehe Much Much Better.
