June 13th, 2007 No comments is a pretty handy site for looking at how sites link to each other. This is an obligatory post so they can see that I own this domain. Cause that’s how they roll now yo.

Server Update

June 5th, 2007 No comments

I’m updating the server in the next few minutes so expect weirdness.

Gotta track down that server gnome repellant…

Update: Done, and I think I can send out the “all is well” guy with the bell.

Female Little People

You learn the damnedest things from server logs…

While browsing through today’s server activity I discovered a connection (from an IP range no less) to this post by one Mr Tyler Riggs.

The server also records where the connection originated from. This one is a bit … unusual for the traffic we normally get.

That’s right. Somehow we are currently #1 on Yahoo’s search for “lady midgets”.

So I’d like to give a warm welcome to the user who found our site while searching Yahoo, and a well deserved “Are you happy now?” to Mr Riggs.

Well done! 🙂

New Look and WordPress 2.2

May 27th, 2007 No comments

Like many other people, I like the color blue.

I hope everyone else can deal with it 🙂

The site is now using iTheme by n. design studio.

Items on the right side can be minimized with the toolbar buttons and dragged around and reordered using your mouse. I’m also trying out the WordPress widgets which are now built-in to WordPress 2.2.

I believe the technical term for all this eye candy is “snazzy.” I could be wrong.

Damn…it -has- been a while

May 24th, 2007 No comments

Finally…the Ro…no, that doesn’t quite work…stealing catchphrases is kinda lame, especially when the one yer stealing appears on t-shirts…

Anyway…seeing that Jay finally updated this place reminded me that I too can saturate your consciousness with my babble, so since I’m not totally sober, I will…

Being the big brother in any scenario involving a baby rules…

Even though the song’s kinda catchy…the reality of the situation is that you should never “wish they all could be California girls”…

We really need to start updating this thing more than once every 50 days or so…

Everything supposedly happens for a reason…

Why don’t we usually know those reasons?…

By now…is there anyone who doesn’t know smoking’s bad for you?…

That’s all for now…I’ll do better next time…

So, I’m back…and that’s not a bad thing

…It’s a GOOD thing…for all 7 of you that read the tripe that we post.

Someday maybe I’ll get around to posting something that matters.

The Tourist is Among Us

August 16th, 2006 No comments

Ladies and gentlemen please join me in extending a warm welcome to The Tourist aka Tyler Riggs, a long, LONG time buddy of mine. He left the great white north for the sunnier Arizona and we recently started IM’ing thanks to another long time friend. Some random occasion a few years back he had told me that George Romero’s Land of the Dead was so terrible I shouldn’t even bother seeing it.

I was shocked. This was the same guy who first showed me the original Dawn of the Dead.

This is what I got in return for a two sentence question this evening, asking him why he felt so strongly about it:

One VERY good reason. George Romero has tried several times to make a serious movie outside of the zombie genre. he has failed famously. Land of the Dead (LOD) was probably the last major movie he was ever going to make. And instead of utilizing John Leguizamo and creating a massive epic of violence and subtle social commentary, he instead chose to go with a gay ass “ooo, lets feel BAD for the zombies, they’re people too!” hippy fucking BULLSHIT. My main problem with LOD isnt that its that bad, its that it wasnt awesome. He had a shot, one last chance to bring the whole genre he started together. He could have combined dawn and day and mixed in a little 28, but instead the movie limped along until its rotting corpse fell apart and rotted.

A few minutes later we have ourselves a new contributing member 🙂
