… my geek status would have to be officially revoked.
Peter Cullen is the one and only Optimus Prime as far as I’m concerned, so I was happy when I found out he would be the voice of Optimus in the movie.
This video features some footage of the upcoming game and Peter Cullen explaining his take on Optimus.
Non-Transformers people can move on now.

All images are widescreen 1280×800 jpg format, character models only on black backgrounds. Unfortunately I just haven’t found a way to make Starscream, Megatron, and Bumblebee look any good in a wall paper ratio based on the original images.
If you don’t have a widescreen display most of these will work well enough if you set your wallpaper preferences to “center” the image, or you can check out GIMPshop at the link above and crop it to a different size.
Obviously all original images here are copyright Hasbro and Michael Bay, and if either of them have a problem with minimalist high rez huge robot wallpaper sweetness please leave a comment and I’ll be happy to send them to you to host on your own server, or delete, or whatever.
If anyone wants to link to these please link to this page and not the zip file directly. Bandwidth thieves suck.

EDIT: We finally saw the movie last night, and it was incredible beyond words. Seth’s favorite bot was Frenzy, so I whipped up this wallpaper for him.
SSH MOTD (message of the day) <-- The only good use for ASCII art I can find.
One of the many small adjustments one has to make after purchasing their first MacBook (first Apple ever for me personally) is getting used to the widescreen. This is the first time I’ve ever used a portable with a widescreen, and for the first couple days it actually hurt my eyes just a little bit. Not because it is difficult to look at, there is just more screen space to cover with your eyes.
A nice wallpaper makes a world of difference on these MacBook screens. Because they are widescreen and high quality they make bad wallpaper look really bad. Thankfully some quick googling turned up this gem at InterfaceLIFT and I’m now rocking some seriously excellent wallpapers.
